This project involved the design and construction of a 400 sq ft accessory dwelling unit tailored for a Long Beach residential property. The goal was to create a compact yet highly functional ADU that could comfortably support a one-bedroom, one-bathroom layout without feeling cramped or overdesigned.
The planning focused on efficiency and livability. Each room was sized intentionally, circulation was kept simple, and natural light was prioritized to make the space feel open and usable throughout the day. The layout works well for long-term rental or flexible living while staying within a modest footprint.
From an exterior standpoint, the ADU features a clean, understated design that blends naturally into the surrounding neighborhood. The structure was designed to be cost-effective, permit-ready, and realistic for a typical Southern California backyard environment.
